I believe with what you have had, you may want to know whether you are been affected by the recent breach of Facebook data and what action to take to prevent it from happening again. To know whether you are a victim, Facebook has provided you with a Help Center to check whether you are a victim or not.
Here is how to find out whether you are a victim.
To check whether you are a victim, you need to navigate to the Help Center and then Log in to your account.
- Once you are on the Help Center section, scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see a section titled “Is my Facebook account impacted by this security issue?”
- If you are affected by the attack Facebook will give you a quick response saying that in the coming days users that are been affected will get a customized message to the 30 million people affected explaining to them what information or data the attackers might have accessed and how they can protect themselves from such suspicious emails, text messages, and calls.
- But if you are not affected by the attack, once you go the Help Center section and you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find this “ Is my Facebook account impacted by this security issue? Based on what we’ve learned so far, your Facebook account has not been impacted by this security incident. If we find more Facebook accounts were impacted, we will reset their access tokens and notify those accounts”.
