The Chinese company has finally unveiled the Huawei Y9a and has finally arrived in the Nigeria market. The Huawei Y9a is a budget-friendly device that costs below $300, the device also features a notch-less screen display, a pop-up selfie camera with an impressive 64MP rear camera.
Design and Display
The back cover of the Huawei Y9a is designed with a plastic material while the front is made of glass. The device adopts the trending halo camera design. The Huawei Y9a comes in Silver, Sakura Pink, and Midnight Black colours.
In terms of its dimensions and weight, it has a dimension of 163.5 x 76.5 x 9 mm and 197 grams in weight. The Huawei Y9a also features a 6.63-inch FHD screen display with a 92% screen to body ratio with no option of a notch or punch-hole display because the device uses a pop-up selfie camera.
Hardware and Software
The Huawei Y9a is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 chipset which is paired with an 8GB RAM. The chipset features an Octa-core 2.0GHz processor and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU which handles the gaming and graphical aspect of the phone. Although the device comes in two different versions a 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM both having the same inbuilt storage capacity of 128GB and can be expanded up to 256GB with the use of a microSD card.
While the software runs on Android 10 OS with EMUI 10.1 User Interface which allows you to take a screen by just tapping on the screen twice. You won’t see the Google Play Store on this device because Huawei phones no longer support the Google Play Store. So, the company have replaced the PlayStore with AppGallery.
The fingerprint sensor is mounted at the side of the device other sensors features include the gyroscope, compass, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor.
Huawei Y9a Camera
In terms of the camera aspect, the Huawei Y9a is equipped with a 64 MP primary camera which is paired with an 8MP 120° ultrawide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter at the back of the device.
While the selfie camera features a motorized pop-up front camera of 16 MP.

The device uses a non-removable battery capacity of 4,200mAh with the support of 40W fast charging technology.
Huawei Y9a Price and Availability
The Huawei Y9a is currently available in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya which cost about $250 which approximately 95,000 Naira in Nigeria while in Ghana it will sell for 1,500GHc and 28,000Ksh in Kenya.
