How to Recover MTN Mobile Money Pin in Ghana

Have you forgotten your MTN MOMO account pin or it was mistakenly blocked and you don’t know how to go about that? Please don’t panic at all because I know the stress involved when someone forgets his or her mobile money pin.

In this article, I will show a step-by-step guide on how to recover your forgotten MTN MOMO pin without contacting the MTN customer care line.

How To Fix Your MTN MOMO Pin

The steps I will be giving below are strictly for MTN MONO users and not only limited to MTN MONO users.

Before you recover or reset your Mobile Money account, you have to set a recovery number first to be able to reset your MOMO pin. Here are the guidelines to follow to reset your forgotten or blocked PIN;

• Dial *170# on your mobile phone and select Option 6 (My Wallet)
• Next, Select Option 5 (Change & Reset Pin)
• Then Select Option 2 (Reset Pin)
• Select Option 1 (Self Pin Reset)
• Select Option 1 (Add Recovery Contact) A temporary pin will be sent to the number you added as Recovery Contact
• Now enter the temporary password sent to you
• Input the four-digit numbers you wish as your new pin and repeat

Note: You cannot use the same PIN code twice;

How To Register Mobile Money Pin Recovery Number

• Dial *170# and select Option 6 (My Wallet)
• Select Option 5 (Change & Reset Pin)
• Select Option 2 (Reset Pin)
• Select Option 1 (Self Pin Reset)
• Select Option 1 (Add Recovery Contact)
• Enter any of your mobile phone numbers it could be any network, but make sure the number is active and not the same number you are resetting your PIN on.
• Enter your current Mobile Money account pin to confirm
• An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the number you entered so check the other number to confirm the OTP code.
